Even though our headlamps may look similar, they are designed for different needs. Dog walking, outdoor adventures, trail running and downhill riding all place different demands on brightness, weight, burn time and durability. Here, we’ll guide you through our headlamp series to help you find the right one.
FREE SERIES
Free is our modular headlamp series for those who need more light during activities where speed, distance and terrain place greater demands. The series ranges from the ultralight Free Runner 1100 for running to Free Action 3400 for activities such as ski touring, downhill riding and night orienteering.
The modular system lets you switch the lamp unit, battery and mount, adapting the same headlamp system for running, cross-country skiing, cycling or ski touring. Free also features Speed Mode for a temporary light boost in technical terrain, as well as batteries with a built-in power bank function.
Best for: running, trail running, roller skiing, cross-country skiing, cycling, ski touring and other high-tempo activities.
Brightness: 1100–3400 lumens.
TRAIL RUNNER FREE
Trail Runner is our iconic headlamp series for runners, first introduced in 2008. Today’s Trail Runner Free features Free Technology, with the power cable integrated into the headband for a comfortable experience without distracting cords.
The series includes three models with 450–550 lumens for everyday running on illuminated tracks and easier trails. Trail Runner Free 2 Ultra features a more powerful battery with longer burn time for ultra running and longer races. All models have a light pattern optimised for trail running and a red safety light at the rear. The Hybrid Battery Case also allows you to use AAA batteries as an alternative or backup.
Best for: everyday running, trail running and ultra running.

EXPLORE
Explore is our extra-durable headlamp series for expeditions, water activities and adventures in demanding conditions. Explore 5 delivers 700 lumens and features a dustproof and fully waterproof design (IP68), making it suitable for everything from hiking and climbing to kayaking and SUP.
It has four brightness levels, a red light mode that preserves night vision and an orange light that makes map reading easier. The integrated battery is rechargeable via USB-C.
Best for: hiking, camping and adventures in demanding weather conditions.
Brightness: 700 lumens.
Water resistance: IP68.
DISCOVER
Discover is designed for outdoor activities that require a durable and easy-to-use headlamp. It delivers 500 lumens and features a dustproof and water-resistant design (IP65).
With a large button that is easy to use even when wearing gloves, plus red and orange light modes for preserving night vision and reading maps, Discover is a practical choice for outdoor adventures. It also features a Hybrid Battery Case, making it compatible with both the Silva Hybrid Battery and AAA batteries.

SMINI
Smini is our lightest and most minimalist headlamp series. With 250 lumens and a weight starting at just 38.5 grams, it is designed for those who want to keep weight to a minimum when running or adventuring.
It is particularly well suited for urban running and lightweight hiking, or as a backup light during races and longer adventures. Smini features Silva Intelligent Light, a red light mode to preserve night vision and a super-low 10-lumen mode to save battery.

IGNITE
Ignite is our most powerful headlamp, developed for activities where you need maximum light at high speeds and in demanding terrain. With an impressive 10,000 lumens, it turns night into day and provides powerful illumination for everything from orienteering and trail riding to downhill, enduro, ski touring, freeriding and snowmobiling.
Ignite comes with a headband and a powerful 96 Wh battery. Adapt the headlamp for more activities with optional accessories such as a battery harness, remote control, helmet mounts and handlebar mounts.
